Press release of my recent work "shertara" Siemens Star at Istanbul turkey, Unicef Turkey project

Siemens' star will shine for the children

A city is being filled with star statues as part of the Stars of Istanbul (SOI) project, organised to celebrate UNICEF's 60 years in Turkey. Siemens is a sponsor of the SOI project, which is being carried out in Istanbul with the goal of creating a more colourful world, improving knowledge about social responsibility, using art to show the richness around us, and contributing to the city in a positive way.

Siemens, which contributes to the creation of a better world with its ideas, technologies and activities, is participating in the "Stars of Istanbul" project created in conjunction with the 60th year of UNICEF's service in Turkey and organised within the scope of the United Nations target of ensuring that, by 2015, "children everywhere, boys and girls alike, will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling."

For the benefit of UNICEF, and as part of the Stars of Istanbul project, which is the largest multi-purpose outdoor arts event in Turkey, Siemens sponsored the star designed by the Indian artist Mulani Javed Chandsaheb, and will meet the basic education requirements of 100 children and enable "their futures to shine".

In speaking about the Stars of Istanbul project, Siemens Inc CEO Hüseyin Gelis said, "We, as Siemens Inc, are aware of the importance of a strong education for the future of Turkey. Each intellect has a unique value for us. As a company located in over 190 countries in the world, we believe in diversity, as demonstrated by all our employees. With this belief, we chose to proceed with the Indian artist Javed Mulani Chandsaheb in the Stars of Istanbul project. Each child to whose education we contribute will grow up and become a part of this diversity with their knowledge and points of view on the future"..

The Star of Siemens, a project demonstrating the importance Siemens places on the education of children for the sustainability of the future of a country, will be available for visitors to see at the International Terminal of Istanbul Ataturk Airport from September until November.
