entangles me in the process of art. I started my initial art lesson by following old
masters paintings under the guidance of my mentor Mr. Sunil Nandgoankar. The
journeys continued at the famous campus of Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai were
I learned the aesthetics involved in visual process. I involved myself in thorough
academic studies to command over the medium and techniques to enhance into
visual exploration.
Drawing is the first stage of process in which the idea emerges and settles on
a visual space. Drawing can come as a source for accelerating the process or it
may form as complete work of art in itself. I see my drawing as lines that break
themselves and convert into forms. The Intensity and force applied grips the line
to the surface. The tonal variations implied between lines breaks wholeness of
space and generate movement optically. These lines come with an intention but
impulsively. The process of impulsive drawing is after understanding a subject
or object, exploring the unknown possibilities to network the link of artist's
aesthetic sensitivity. The distortion and addition or simplification about the
existing form is due to the contribution of observation, perception, understanding,
transformation and sensitivity.
My recent series of work evolved gradually from the society. It's not an instant
reaction or respond to what's happening around. Visuals explored are the
experiences being identified separately. Today's world
is facing terrorism
under the label of Islam has added more to the insecure feeling. My work is not a
statement but it's an experimental expression of contemporary situation depicting
the psyche of the mislead society. This constant feeling of being separated
sometimes has become the content of my work. The tragedy and incidents
happening around develop into concept of work.
The play of dominance or to over power has generated a new dimension which
is without structure. Whether you are involved or not, you face it all the time. This
is the general expression of an individual. My drawing represents the mental and
physical existence with bold lines and pure colour. It's a process to release the
energy in a positive way. There is lot more unexpected to come in future to
challenge my creative senses. This keeps me alive and aware to contribute
with artistic intellect.
